Women’s Aid comment on the rape and sexual abuse allegations against Mohammed Al Fayed by former employees
Women’s Aid said,
“Yet again, we are seeing headlines about a powerful and wealthy man exploiting his position to sexually objectify and abuse women. Women’s Aid is appalled by the details of the allegations against Mohammed Al Fayed and stand in solidarity with all the women who were victimised by him. We have been given an insight into how female employees can be so heartbreakingly exploited, with a culture of fear created to stop them speaking out.
Women’s Aid commend the bravery of the women who have spoken out about their experiences. While we know this isn’t easy, your testimonies have exposed how power and misogyny can intersect to allow for the abuse of women and girls and we hope will help signal to society that enough is enough.”
